job summary

Responsible for all aspects of demand planning, which includes: sales and forecast analysis, purchase order / work order creation / maintenance, supplier development, price analysis, quality control, supplier selection and development, mentor and resource to Cushion Planner.


ESSENTIAL Duties and Responsibilities 

Replenishment Planning:

  • Proactively analyzes sales and forecast patterns for furniture frames and service parts and executes weekly supply plans that support the current and anticipated customer demand,
  • Analyzes system generated messages to drive purchase activities and determines their impact on inventory levels and service risk. Such activities include purchase order placement, warehouse transfer, and furniture repair and rework.
  • Communicates / coordinates with our domestic and global supply base to ensure our priority needs are met by resolving quality issues, specification / application issues, service part needs, and new product introduction coordination.
  • Closely monitor purchasing plans to ensure timely support of sales order demands, and lead time requirements. Facilitates effective plans to resolve late orders and extended lead time occurrences.
  • Manage product life cycles through forecasts, system settings, and collaboration with our sales, customer service and logistics teams.
  • Effectively manages inventory levels of components and finished goods while being sensitive to and cognizant of service level vs inventory investment realities.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves potential service issues due to insufficient supply or abnormal demand and communicates to all relevant parties the risk and resolution to such issues.
  • Effectively balances manufacturing needs, supplier needs, and customer needs while limiting risk to sales and potential out-of-stock occurrences.
  • Develop and publicize forecast metrics and reports to support the salesforce.
  • Develop and implement Quarterly Business Review with salesforce to review forecast trends.


  • Develops collaborative relationships with our supply base to foster trust, problem resolution, and continual improvement. Monitors supplier performance on multiple dimensions with the focus on driving improved results
  • Negotiates effective resolution to pricing, delivery and quality issues.
  • Develops new sources of supply with the focus on improved pricing, quality and lead time.
  • Creates / maintains / communicates all purchasing-related documentation such as po's, contracts, specifications, etc.
  • Work with R&D on new novelty role outs for timeline and purchase

  • ERP system maintenance: BOM creation / maintenance, item master and price maintenance.
  • Other projects necessary for material maintenance and cleanup
  • Control and update material statuses and properties
  • Work order creation and closeouts (Sewing Room and Warehouse)
  • Setup new Items as information is provided and ensure the data integrity of the new item


  • 4-year degree in business / operations / supply chain preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of working experience preferably in Planning / Purchasing.
  • Flexible in work assignments and work changes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Honest, trustworthy, and ethical.
  • Computer literate; Excel, Word, ERP system functionality
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
